Return of the Living Dead (1985)

In a medical supply warehouse, the foreman, Frank, is showing off to the new employee Freddy. One story that is told by Frank is that the Night of the Living Dead film based on a real life account but Freddy thinks Frank is pulling his leg. Until Frank suggests seeing the actual bodies, in barrels downstairs. Down they go and sure enough, there is what looks to be a dead corpse in a barrel. After hitting the barrel, to show it's sturdiness, the barrel splits open and releases gas, which goes into the vent and starts reanimating a corpse in the freezer upstairs.

This was a really fun film, a bit cheesy and occasionally WTF, like when one character strips naked and starts dancing whilst in a graveyard. But other than that it was a good love letter to the Night of the Living Dead series.

Best makeup moment: Seeing the zombie from the barrel "alive" and properly zombiefied.
